Top 10 Week 12 Waiver Wire Adds
Number One: Taysom Hill, 18 of 23 for 233 passing yards and 51 rushing yards and also rushed 10 times for 51 and 2 rushing touchdowns
Kamara owners worst nightmare. He’s not widely available, 43% on Yahoo, but if he's on your league’s wire then he should be your number one add. Hill had been used relatively ineffectively as a gadget running Quarterback up until this point, but Taysom proved he can throw it down the field.
As a Taysom hater it’s hard to ignore how good he looked against the Falcons. The next five weeks he plays against the Broncos, Falcons, Eagles, Chiefs and Vikings. The Chiefs are the only matchup were he could be considered benchable. There’s a high likelihood that Brees starts again to end the year, as Sean Payton announced before the season that this would be the last year for the long time starter.
Number Two: James White, 5 rushes for 19 yards, caught 6 of 9 targets for 64 yards and no touchdowns.
Fun fact, when you look up James white 2020 highlights on Google or YouTube you can't find any. You find this hype video of his 2019 performance posted New England Patriots official YouTube channel that looks like it was made by James White himself.
With Rex Burkhead being out and Sony Michel coming back James White has a role carved out for himself on third and passing downs. His floor can’t be ignored in half and full PPR leagues. With the Patriots upcoming games being against the Cardinals, Chargers, Rams, Dolphins, and Bills, there should be plenty of opportunity for White to catch a ton of passes while the Patriots trail.
Number Three: Tony Pollard, 5 carries for 60 yards and a Touchdown.
Pollard is the best pure talent on this list. Pollard is only owned in 18% of Yahoo leagues. Pollard has impressive speed, above average vision for his age, impressive balance because of next level feet placement, a nasty wiggly and juke. Loves to stop and start and use his speed to avoid defenders. While not powerful he has a tendency to throw baby stiff arms and lower the shoulder. They often run pollard to the outside, or in the c gap. He’s dangerous when he gets to the edge.
Last year Pollard averaged 5.3 yards on 86 carries, this year it has only dropped to 5.1 yards per carry on 52 carries. With 6 games left to the season, and a series of tough cowboys matches Pollard is a huge upside handcuff.
Number Four: Gus Edwards, 3 carries for 6 yards.
His numbers don’t look impressive on the weekend don’t look all that impressive but with Dobbins and Ingram out with Covid-19, Edwards is looking to take 60-80% of the touches out of a high powered Ravens backfield. On the Raven’s depth chart Gus Edwards is listed as the starter with only Justice Hill behind him. Hill has 0 carries on the season and 1 catch for 3 yards. Edwards may only have the stranglehold for one week however, and this week they are going up against a tough Pittsburgh Steelers defense.
Number Five: Michael Pittman jr, 3 targets, 3 catches for 66 yards and a Touchdown
Behind the titans, and in a tough division the Colts are trying to make everyone believe that they are Super Bowl contenders. Their passing game has been lackluster all season, but rookie Michael Pittman jr is making his presence felt on the football field ever since his return. Pittman has seen 7, 8 and 3 targets since coming back from his calf surgery. If the colts are going to make a splash in the post season they’re gonna need help from the Receiver they drafted over Wisconsin talent Johnathon Taylor.
Number Six: Nelson Agholor caught 6 of 9 targets for 88 yards and a Touchdown.
Agholor has finally started to catch them babys in Oakland. Agholor has shown throughout the season that he is the Raider’s number option in the passing offense behind Darren Waller. With Ruggs only having 26 catches on the season, there’s no one in Oakland to take touches from Agholor. He’s a boom/bust option that will produce against tough run defenses.
Number Seven: Jordan Reed, caught 5 of 6 targets for 60 yards and no Touchdowns.
Reed has a high roster ownership at 85% so I won’t say much. Reed is worth mentioning because if he blows up again, that number will go up to 100%, so you should check to see if he’s on the waiver wire.
Number Eight: Wayne Gallman, 18 carries for 53 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Caught 1 of his 2 targets for 7 yards.
Gallman can’t stop finding the endzone after coming into replace Devonta Freeman. In Gallman’s 4 starts he has gotten 13.90, 12.70, 14.20, and 18.50 fantasy points. This week the Giants are going against the Andy Daltonless Bengals. Gallman and the Giants defense are both great streaming options for this week.
Number Nine: Dallas Cowboys Defense.
Here are Dallas' matches through the last 5 games of the season. Washington Football Team, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles. While Dallas' defense has been bad for fantasy all year, however in week 8 they were able to put 13 fantasy points against the Eagles. Dallas is a stash that has plus matchups for the last 3 weeks of the season. A stash that should improve should Trevon Diggs return.
Number Ten: Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks look a lot better on defense with the return of Jamal Adams and the addition of Carlos Dunlap. We need to reevaluate our understanding of the Seahawks as a good matchup for your fantasy lineup. Their next five games are against the Eagles, Giants, Jets, Football Team, and Rams. This defense could easily help carry your squad to the playoffs.
