What’s Wrong?
It’s hard to admit when you’re wrong. It gets a little easier when everyone else can see your mistakes. The point of KickTossCatch is to put you in the money. When I advocate for a player who doesn’t have a great day of Football, I have failed. If we are to become the DFS gods that we are destined to be, then it is important for us to learn from my mistakes.
J.D. Mckissic: 6 rushes for 43 yards. Caught 3 of 4 targets for 26 yards. No touchdowns.
Mckissic is a third down, and receiving back whos upside increases against tough defenses lines, and pass heavy game scripts. Unfortunately in this game, neither of those things happened. We know that the Bengals defensive line is bad, what we didn’t know is that Joe Burrow, their first overall draft pick would go down for the year after facing a brutal second quarter injury. Burrows replacement, Ryan Finley completed 3 of 10 passes for 30 yards and added an interception, allowing Washington to run the ball to easily roll over the Cincinnati Bengals who are now 0-5-1 on the road. Mckissic should rebound in the coming weeks, although we can no longer continue to expect 14 target games.
Kalen Ballage: 16 rushes for 44 yards. Caught 7 of 9 targets for 27 yards. No Touchdowns.
Ballage had his worst yard per attempt and yard per catch performances on the season against the Jets last night. It’s positive to see the amount of work he got in lieu of Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler’s absence. Ballage is still splitting the backfield, but neither Troymaine Pope who had 3 carries for 4 yards and had 2 catches for 12 yards or Joshua Kelley who carried the ball 4 times for -2 yards and had two catches for 4 yards, were anywhere close to seeing Ballage’s involvement. Ballage is still the Runningback to own in this backfield for the time being, but if he continues to have poor performance he should be someone you start to avoid.
Keelan Cole Sr: Caught 2 of 4 targets. No Touchdowns.
Cole was a mistake. Just a plain bad pick. He should only be used in plus matchups, and can’t be put in any lineup when Laviska Shenualt comes back from his hamstring injury. My bad.
Julio Jones: Caught both of his targets for 39 yards. No Touchdown.
We’re supposed to get an update on the severity of Julio’s injury today. Julio wasn’t having a great game before he tore his hamstring, but the hamstring tear certainly didn’t help. There’s a chance that we saw the last of the Julio Jones we know this season. Julio has been battling this hamstring injury since week 3, and this is the third time this season he’s had a hamstring scare. Hamstring injury’s are a bigger deal for the 31 year old wide receiver and with Calvin Ridley nipping at the heels of Julio’s number 1 wide receiver spot, Julio should be outside of your lineups until his price goes down significantly.
Kareem Hunt: 13 rushes for 11 yards, and caught his only target for 10 yards. 1 Touchdown.
Hunt had a disappointing game on the ground and in the air and barely saved his fantasy day with a late game touchdown. Hunt, much like Mckissic, sees his value increase in games with pass heavy game scripts. Carson Wentz played another ugly game behind an even uglier offensive line allowing the Browns to run the ball with Nick Chubb 20 times for 114 yards. Hunt should see better games in the future.
Marvin Hall: Caught all 3 of his targets for 16 yards. No Touchdowns.
I couldn’t tell if I was a watching the Lions or Pompeo yesterday. It was a complete and utter collapse. I wouldn’t be surprised if Roary, the lions mascot retired tomorrow. Not much to take from this game on Hall’s performance. He’s a low floor/high ceiling until we get a better understanding of this Lions team, or Matt Patricia gets fired.
Any TE that wasn’t Taysom Hill:
I didn’t get any of my Tight End picks right outside of the Taysom Hill chalk. This weeks Tight End picks will be much more in depth because of this.

Alvin Kamara: 13 rushes for 45 yards. Caught his only target for no yards. 1 Touchdown.
Kamara’s value plummets significantly with Taysom Hill at Quarterback. Brees and Winston are pocket passers, meaning that their first reaction when under pressure is to dump the ball of the Kamara. Hill’s rushing takes away from Kamara’s rushing floor, and decreases his targets. Kamara should no longer to be considered to be a receiving back as long as Hill is under Center.
Duke Johnson: CANCELLED. 15 yards on 10 carries?
Small picture for a small game. I’m never mentioning his name again out of pure tilt.
