Myopic Mondays
There’s an alternative way of approaching this lineup: replace McKenzie with Theilen and ‘downgrading’ Woods to Irv Smith. I worry some about my lack of exposure to the Vikings’ passing game. Kevin O’Connell, the new sheriff in town, demonstrated his influence and prowess in the Vikings new passing attack in last week’s upset win against the Green Bay Packers.
With that being said, Jefferson’s 9k pricetag backs you into an immediate budgetary corner, decreasing the flexibility and "‘maneuverability of your lineup. And while Theilen has a propensity for dominant receiving games, his lack of usage in their blowout win and increasing age are disconcerting enough for me to want to pivot to Isiah McKenzie.
I believe that Mckenzie is key to today’s slate, in that, he is most likely to end up in today’s top lineup. Gabriel Davis, the Bill’s 2nd most popular receiving option was a late scratch heading into today’s games. Put another way, his pricing was set before it was announced that Davis will be sidelined with an ankle injury, and therefore was made at least partially with the assumption that Davis will be playing. In my opinion, McKenzie is about 1k undervalued, and will easily make up for his pricing at 4k.
The Bill’s defense is probably overpriced, but none of the other defenses jump out to me as distinct values. It’s hard to determine what the Eagles/Vikings game will look like tonight, so I just eschewed the decision-making process and went with what looks to be the best defense in the league.
Swaim out-snapped Hooper, and is priced lower than him. Tight ends have also been pretty disappointing thus far, so I don’t really feel the need to pay up for one.
Tannehill is by far the worst QB on the slate, but that’s factored into his pricing. As long as he scored more than 12 points, we should be fine.
