Tautological Thursdays
In the captain’s spot, Nick Chubb is a luxury we cannot afford. His price increase from 12k to 18k leaves no room for a sixth roster spot. I don’t have a ton of confidence in Claypool over any other Steelers wider receiver, in fact, I think baby gronk (Freiurmuth) has been much more consistent, but unfortunately, DraftKings agrees with me and all of this is priced in. Much like Chubb you can move away from Claypool but that lineup will look entirely different from this one, and my decision to go with Claypool has more to do with that last roster spot. If we put baby gronk in, Bell gets turned into Derek Watt, or Jerome ford. Both are averaging less than one point a game. There is some potential that they could see a touchdown, Watt earning some sort of trick play or goal line snap, Ford seeing time if the Browns dominate early enough. Bell, like the last two names is averaging less than a point a game, but the key difference is that he’s seeing the field. The Browns run tigh tend heavy offense, so it’s not like Bell’s 26% snap share screams value, but it proves his target share and chance of valuable targets should be higher than Watt’s and Ford’s.
I really wanted some Brissett. He’s matching some of the best play of his career and he’s priced nearly at the same rate as Trubisky, who’s having the opposite season. I’m pretty happy with how this lineup turned out, my main concerns are Claypool over baby gronk and whether I should’ve pushed Chubb in the captains spot. I think Brisett, Chubb, Hunt, and Harris are all pretty chalky picks, since both these teams like to win on the ground and in the trenches.
