Myopic Monday

The Raiders were able to ameliorate their defense this offseason by focusing on their free-agent acquisitions. The Ravens have only gotten worse as the season has gone on, perpetually hampered by miscellaneous and unfortunate injuries. Against this stout front seven, Lamar will be forced to win the game through the air. Putting more pressure on Ty’Son Williams to set the world on fire in his first NFL appearance. We don’t know much about Williams's abilities as a rusher, but we do know that this offense is structured to help the efficiency of its running backs.

With the majority of the Raven’s scheme flowing through Lamar Jackson, and Derek Carr’s Raiders entering this game as massive underdogs, it’s hard to ignore the quarterback position in this matchup. Both of these offenses have unpredictable and inconsistent receiving options and coaching. I don’t have Darren Waller in either of these lineups, which could end up being the missing link. I think his pricing is too restrictive right now, but if Carr continues to feed him the ball, it might not end up mattering.
