$4M Conference Clash - One Lineup To Rule Them All
Since we only have two games to delve through, the player pool is pretty shallow this week. This allows the pricing of players to create certain impasses on the lineups today. For example, Travis Kelce is $8,000 and the 2nd most expensive Tight End is Robert Tonyan’s $3,600. Therefore, you must choose your Chiefs wisely in order to maximize value on the slate.
Aaron Rodgers: Wanting to try and even roster for this lineup I went cheap-er on the quarterback. Rodgers only being $400 more than Brady made him look more enticing. Another approach to this lineup is to pay up for Josh Allen and to pay down at TE for Gronk. My biggest hesitancy against Josh Allen this week is that the Chiefs have one of the best passing defense in the league, and the Bills offense, much like the Steelers have abandoned the running game altogether. Not only rendering their offense dimensional but also increase the chance of Allen sacks and turnovers.
Aaron Jones: Jones will most likely end up having high ownership being that he’s the only healthy, reliable and competent running back left in the playoffs.
Ronald Jones: Jones has a chance to slice through this weak Packers rushing defense. If Ronald Jones wasn’t fighting injury and fresh off losing the backfield once again, I would view him as the sneaky upside play. As it stands though, it looks like crotchety old Arians will stay stuck in his deep passing ways which could allow Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller to become the true sneaky plays.
Tyreek Hill: You’re picking your poison between Hill and Kelce. Both will end up having great days on the football field, and both will see high ownership percentages. It’s up to you to decipher which player will have the biggest fantasy day. Hill’s speed and one play ability give him enough leverage to make it into my lineup over Kelce.
Mike Evans/Chris Godwin/Cameron Brate: With Antonio Brown out, the targets are going to go somewhere. Jaire Alexander might spend his time trying to neutralize Evans in the RedZone, opening up opportunities for other Buccaneer’s pass catchers. I would’ve picked Gronk over Brate if I could, but I couldn't afford him. Plus Brate’s targets have gone up substantially in the past three weeks, allowing him and any other Bucc’s pass-catcher to become the real sneaky options.
Davante Adams: Adams connection with Rodgers is undeniable, as is his physical prowess and domination on the football field. Tampa Bay’s cornerbacks stand literally zero chance of guarding Adams, who was just able to best a much better Rams defense. Adams has proven to be unstoppable and the biggest chalk on the slate.
Kansas City Chiefs DST: As I said earlier, I don’t believe that this game is conducive to a great Josh Allen game. I expect many turnovers, and at least a couple of sacks. People tend to also forget about the “ST” part of DST. Chief’s speed gives them to highest chance to return a punt or kick return for a touchdown as well. If you don’t believe that Kansas City will be able to stop Allen then you should pay down here and grab Tyreek Hill or Gronk.
